That old Alfa 6 is a strong engine. Cooling and oiling can both be tricky in high-power applications (start with an "S" block from the 164, it has piston-skirt oil squirters), but the internals are able to handle a metric-butt-ton of boost without worry. 400 HP? No problem! 500 HP? Quite doable. 600 HP? yup, that's also possible, just gotta want it enough. Though I still think a big-bore, N/A treatment sounds better...

Oh cool, I didn't know that. Will be very helpful when I get round to buying a GTV6 though :)
I do love big-bore Arese V6s. I'm thinking that when I get a GTV6 or an Alfa 6 I'll either build a hi-po 3.0l or a big-bore 3.3l or 3.5l. I've done a little reading on things, but nothing in any great detail.
